TERESA SCHERFFIUS, PT, OCS
She was certified in the specialty of orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2000. She has experience in outpatient orthopedics, acute care, home health as well as industrial rehab. Teresa established her private practice in the fall of 2000, in order to provide individual, quality, client- based care to the Louisville area. She also hosts movement based classes, such as Tai Chi for Arthritis, which is recognized by the American Arthritis Foundation to relieve pain and reduce falls risk in people impacted by arthritis.
She is certified in Functional Dry Needling as well as the use of multiple modalities to reduce pain and enhance muscle activity.
JANA LYONS, PTA
Began working for us in early October 2005. She graduated from Jefferson Community College in 1982. With more than 35 years of experience in home health, acute care and rehab, she specializes in functionally based rehab to improve the quality of life in the geriatric population. Jana also has a strong background in total joint rehabilitation, balance and strength training.
MELISSA W. PIERIE, OTR/L, CHT
Melissa Pierie is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1991. She earned her certification in Hand Therapy in 2001. She has experience working with adult and pediatric hand and upper extremity disabilities and injuries, including splint construction for specific problems. Her goal is to return a client to their most functional capabilities for work, leisure activities, and self-care tasks.
JUDI CONLIN, PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINER
Judi Conlin wears many hats in our organization: Medically Oriented Gym Director, Personal Trainer, and Physical Therapy Technician. An early interest in dance, led Judi to a Dance minor from Western Kentucky University. She has enjoyed a diverse career that has included activity director for a senior citizen center, aerobic dance instructor and fitness trainer. Judi joined Physical Therapy Group in 2006 as a Personal Trainer. She has used her time with us to expand her personal training skills with certification through W.I.T.S (World Instructor Training School) at Bellarmine University along with advanced study and experience to assist the medically compromised population.
MILLIE HUBNER, PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINER
Millie received her Personal Fitness Training through ACE in 2012 and has worked with Physical Therapy Group for 10 years. She is also a yoga instructor at Yoga Fitness. On her off time she volunteers with WAGS therapy dogs.
DANIELLE RAMERIZ, THERAPIST
Has been a member of our team since August 2015. Danielle’s first love is athletics. She obtained her Athletic Training certification in 2007 which was followed by a Master’s degree in Health & Human Performance from Austin P State University in 2009. Never one to let grass grow under her feet, she obtained her license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in 2013. Danielle loves working with all age groups and excels in helping her patients return to the things they need to do for work and love to do for sport and recreation. When Danielle is not working, her time is spent raising active, young boys.
Brian began working here as a PT technician, then earned his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Bellarmine University in May 2018. He is certified in Integrated Trigger Point Dry Needling for the treatment of muscle spasms and joint pain. He is an avid runner and enjoys working with a variety of patients from the age of 5 to 105. Physical therapy is more than just a job for Brian. Helping people regain the ability to support their family and participate in those things that they love is his passion.
Madeline began working here as a PT technician in Aug 2008. While pursuing school she also worked as the assistant office manager. She graduated from Ivy Tech Community College, number 1 in her class, and began her career of an assistant physical therapist in May of 2019. Her attention to detail and care for the wellness of others is evident through her daily work. She enjoys working with all age groups and a wide range of diagnoses. Her passion for the field of physical therapy, her encouraging attitude, and experience will help guide you to live a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Linda Caldwell has been our office manager for over 15 years. She enjoys the challenge presented by helping patients get the most out of their insurance coverage. She and her husband, Tom have 8 grandchildren who love to spend time with them on Thunder Lake.
